Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As I write this letter, it is almost Thanks Giving in Canada, so I want to wish you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! I pray you will have a wonderful time with your family and that God will be glorified, praised and thanked for everything!
I am so thankful for the indescribable gift of our Lord Jesus Christ and for His salvation and the eternal life He gives! I am so thankful for His guidance and very thankful for a fruitful ministry for the past 35 years.
I thank God for my wife and children. They are precious gifts from God. They have stood with me and supported me throughout many challenging times. The Lord is so good to me and I cannot thank Him enough. "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Praise the Lord for a good banquet in Edmonton, Alberta on September 29th. Also while in the west, I spoke at a few churches in Alberta and British Columbia, and then Ellen met me back in Edmonton for our banquet. It was an amazing time with the many faithful friends and supporters. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for these wonderful people who pray for us and who came to our banquet and who supported generously! I also thank God for the volunteers who helped out, namely Kendall (Shamma), her family and her helpers Pat and Wendy. May the Lord bless them abundantly! I am thrilled to report that we raised about $50,000 in donations and pledges. Praise the Lord!
While out west, a very memorable thing happened. I met a whole, large family of Syrian refugees who came from Aleppo. They told me that about ten years ago they accepted the Lord through watching our programs on TV and they were shocked to see me as they did not expect to see me there. Everyday I am so honoured and humbled to see and hear about people who have accepted the Lord as their Saviour because of the effects of the powerful Word of God. It is our priority to preach the Word of God and we know from the promises of God that His Word never returns void.
This month I was supposed to travel to Syria, but I had to cancel it recently as I was strongly advised because of the escalations of political problems and turmoil there now. However, God, in His wisdom, has opened the door for me to travel to Syria in December and now our focus will be to bless 1000 children with special gifts for Christmas. The last time we did this, we had a great impact on not only the children themselves, but on their whole family, so God has opened the doors for us to go again with a similar campaign of bringing the Christmas message and joy and relief to the needy - these precious children are the apple of God's eye. Will you prayerfully considered sponsoring one or more children at $30.00 each for their gifts? We are preparing 1000 backpacks with school supplies, clothing, winter hat, scarf and mittens and of course some goodies and a toy. If the Lord impresses it on your heart, please give and put in the memo "children."
Thank you for your support of Light For All Nations. I value your prayers greatly as we strive to make a change in the spiritual climate of the Middle East and North Africa.
With thanksgiving to the Lord,
