Day to Day (#85) - The conversion of the Philippian Jailer

+ After the quick trial of Paul & Silas, the magistrates ordered them to be beaten with rods. Then they were thrown into prison, in the inner cell, and their feet fastened in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. The jailer was about to kill himself but Paul stopped him. He asked Paul & Silas, "What must I do to be saved?" He and all his family were converted and baptized.
